Delmarva Hogs fulfill bucket list wish

It hasn't been long since Dianne Shamy was diagnosed with terminal breast cancer, but when the Delmarva Hogs Harley motorcycle group found out she had always dreamed of riding with a biker group, they were quick to step in and grant her wish.
More than two dozen members and friends took off from Dunkin' Donuts in the Midway shopping center to accompany Shamy for a lunchtime ride to the Dough Roller in Ocean City, said Delmarva Hogs club member and local Lady of Harley Rebecca Wilcutts.
"Ron (Horner) stepped in immediately and said he’d be honored to take her," Wilcutts said. "Everyone stepped in just like that to take her on a nice little lunchtime Harley ride with the group."
Shamy recently entered hospice care when cancer metastasized to her spine after a double lumpectomy. Her friend, Sandy Ford, mentioned Shamy's bucket-list wish at the Seaford Harley Davidson store, Wilcutts said, and it wasn't long before they were planning the ride.
"She told me about Dianne and the bucket list, and I told her we would put something together for her one way or another," she said.
Shamy said she felt pure freedom on the ride and it showed.
"It was a nice little ride and the weather was beautiful that day," Wilcutts said. "She just had a smile on her face the whole time, and so it was so worth it."
