Village Volunteers and Lewes Public Library will present an interactive panel discussion at 9:30 a.m., Monday, May 11, at the library, 111 Adams Ave., Lewes. Panelists will address strategies to help older adults stay safe, confident and independent in their own homes and community.
“Living in coastal Sussex County presents unique challenges, and this panel discussion will bring together local experts to address real safety concerns – from everyday risks at home to storm preparedness and digital security – so individuals and families feel informed, prepared and confident staying in their homes,” said Village Volunteers Executive Director Anna Moshier. “At Village Volunteers, we’re committed to helping older adults age in place with dignity and independence, and this panel reflects our vision of a community where people can truly thrive.”
The event is designed for older adults, caregivers and family members who are seeking practical, local guidance. The panelists encourage questions so participants leave feeling informed and empowered to take next steps. Community resource representatives will also be on hand to share information about local programs and services.
Registration is requested, with walk-ins welcome as space allows. Register at lewes.lib.de.us or call 302-645-2733.
