First-graders visit Delaware Aerospace Education Foundation

The Sussex Consortium’s first-grade class at Love Creek Elementary School recently took a field trip to the Delaware Aerospace Education Foundation in Smyrna. The foundation provides students in kindergarten through eighth grade with educational, hands-on science field trips.
In preparation for their next science unit on solids and liquids, the students participated in the Between and Beyond Solids and Liquids program.
The students used their observation skills to gain an insight on sorting, grouping, examining, investigating and testing solids and liquids by their properties. After a fun hands-on experience learning about the properties, the students got to make seltzer rockets to see gases in action.
