Food donations for Community Resource Center due Dec. 29

The St. Peter’s Episcopal Church mission and outreach committee invites everyone to participate in an Advent food collection project to benefit the Community Resource Center in Rehoboth Beach. 

With dignity and respect, the Community Resource Center helps individuals and families get to the next step of their journeys toward self-sufficiency and stability.

Each day during Advent from Dec. 1 to 24, people are asked to set aside one of the suggested items or another nonperishable item of choice and deliver the collected items to the church office or parish hall by Sunday, Dec. 29. The mission and outreach team will deliver the collected food stuffs to the Community Resource Center by the Feast of the Epiphany, Monday, Jan. 6

Suggested grocery items for each day in December are: Dec. 1, box of cereal; and Dec. 2, jar of peanut butter; Dec. 3, jar of jelly; Dec. 4, box of crackers; Dec. 5, macaroni and cheese; Dec. 6, can of tuna; Dec. 7, jar of mayonnaise; Dec. 8, package of pasta; Dec. 9, jar of pasta sauce; Dec. 10, carton of shelf-stable milk; Dec. 11, canned or dried fruit; Dec. 12, package of rice; Dec. 13, package of beans; Dec. 14, oatmeal; Dec. 15, canned vegetables; Dec. 16, applesauce; Dec. 17, sardines; Dec. 18, canned chicken; Dec. 19, canned chili/stew/hash; Dec. 20, Jello or pudding mix; Dec. 21, box of toaster pastries; Dec. 22, tea bags/bag of coffee; Dec. 23, fruit juice; Dec. 24, cookies.
