In partnership with the nonprofit Joshua M. Freeman Foundation and musical instrument retailer Seaford Music, PRS Guitars recently donated guitar gear to the Southern Delaware School of the Arts and Selbyville Middle School.
“Having high-quality PRS instruments in our rock band program is truly transformative for our students. These guitars ensure that every child, regardless of their financial situation, has the opportunity to learn, create and perform on an instrument they can be proud of. This generosity not only removes barriers to participation, but also helps foster a genuine, lasting love of music that our students will carry with them long after they leave my classroom,” said Melody Oneschuk, instrumental music teacher and band director at Southern Delaware School of the Arts.
The gear donations included both electric and acoustic guitars, amplifiers, music chord charts and various accessories. An instrument manufacturer based on Kent Island, Md., PRS Guitars has made donations to several Delmarva schools throughout the year.
“We are proud to help support music programs in local schools. Music education is a priority for our company and for the health of our industry. It is a powerful way to help foster a lifelong love of playing and creating music. We hope that the instruments inspire students to pick up or stick with guitar,” said Bev Fowler, director of artist and community relations at PRS Guitars.
“At Freeman Arts, we’re proud to help connect partners who believe in the power of arts education. PRS’s generous donations to Southern Delaware School of the Arts and Selbyville Middle School put high-quality instruments directly into students’ hands – opening doors for creativity, confidence and connection. We’re deeply grateful for their support,” said Nancy Curry, arts education coordinator at the Joshua M. Freeman Foundation.
