Harry Garland DeMott, loved reading, gardening

Harry Garland DeMott, 90, of Bridgeville passed away peacefully at Christiana Hospital Tuesday, March 31, 2020. He was born Jan. 5, 1930, in Chatham, Va., son of the late Harry Godfrey DeMott and Juanita Giles DeMott. 

Harry worked for Penn-Del Sprinkler Company in Wilmington until his retirement in 1990. He loved reading and gardening and puttering in his shop.

In addition to his parents, Mr. DeMott was preceded in death by his wife Louise Hope Brinsfield DeMott  in December 2019. He is survived by his  four children: Harry L., Garry L. (Pam), Tina L. Carter (David) and Rodney G. (Margie); his six grandchildren; and his five great-grandchildren. He had a special relationship with his grandson Justin Carter, who helped care for him in his later years.

All services will be private.  Arrangements are being handled by Watson-Yates Funeral Home & Crematorium, a Parsell Family Funeral Home, Seaford.
