Hispanic heritage celebrated in Georgetown

Race Street in Georgetown was alive Sept. 12 with the smells of roasted meat and the colorful flags of places such as Puerto Rico, Honduras, Mexico and Guatemala.

Maxima Hispanic Festival brought together food vendors, merchants and everything in between: car dealerships, live music, DJs, medical organizations offering COVID-19 vaccinations and job recruiters.

Singer Dayan Aldana entertains the crowd with her brand of Peruvian-style folk music. The Maxima Hispanic Festival included a wide variety of live music from artists specializing in reggaeton, Mexican norteno and Dominican bachata.
