Hoey Stevenson is a remarkable woman

October 29, 2024

I’m writing to urge you to vote for Kim Hoey Stevenson for state Senate.

I met Kim when she was a student teacher in my third-grade classroom here in Cape. This wonderful, remarkable woman helped change my life and how I saw myself. She made me realize that even as a child, I had worth, and my thoughts and opinions were worth listening to. She showed me that I was funny and smart, and people outside my family thought so too. I even named a pet hamster after her because it was the only way I could think of back then to honor this truly outstanding woman.

Now she is running for state senator for my district, the Sixth District, and she has my family’s vote.

She spent the summer going door to door to answer questions and show us she is ready to listen to our concerns and be our voice at the Delaware Senate.

I know she can and will be our voice for our children's education. If she could help me with my terrible dyslexia, low self-esteem, health issues and other learning issues, I know she will stand up for my daughter Sally and fight for her to get the best education possible in our district. I know she will support the effort for better access to healthcare, especially in the area of Lyme disease that affects so many people here.

Thank you, Kim, for wanting to be our voice in these troubling times and making us feel secure in our state’s future. Vote Kim Hoey Stevenson for District 6 Tuesday, Nov. 5.
