Homeless rate survey volunteer training set July 29

July 23, 2019

Housing Alliance Delaware will conduct its first Sussex summer point-in-time count to gather seasonal homeless rate data Thursday and Friday, Aug. 8 and 9.

Volunteers are needed to help staff several teams to conduct a thorough count from east to west and north to south in Sussex County.

Teams of three to four volunteers will conduct surveys of people staying outdoors, in vehicles and other places not meant for human habitation, as well as emergency rooms, libraries, and day centers.

A 90-minute training will be held the week of Monday, July 29, in Georgetown for first-time volunteers.

Two locations will serve as the base for the PIT teams: Love Inc. in Seaford and the Community Resource Center in Rehoboth Beach. Organizers extend thanks to Susan Kent, executive director of Love Inc. and Jo Allegro-Smith, CRC executive director, for their hospitality and support.
