The runaway train! Have you seen it lately? I’m sure you have.
I speak to the runaway train passing through Sussex County and lying in wait and taking up residence in Lewes; Lewes being the First Town in the First State in the now United States of America.
If, by chance, you question the direction of this message, I reference the glut of indiscriminate construction that has permeated the landscape here in Sussex County; more specifically Lewes. The cement walls of this beautiful, small, prestigious community are continuing to be bulldozed by the equipment of developers seeking that almighty buck at the expense of generations of true Americans that have invested their livelihoods and their limited financial resources in creating homes (not houses) in order to live out their earthly journeys.
My friends, it is late, but not too late, to encourage our Sussex County Council of genuinely good people to put the brakes on any and all development until there is a master plan scrutinized for its full impact for the good and welfare of the general populous.
If we, as residents of Lewes, do not stand up and speak up to this runaway train, we will rapidly become captives in our own homes; not to mention the negative and adverse effect this runaway train will ultimately have on our personal property values.
Please contact Sussex County Council members and clearly state to them your feelings and encourage them to put an immediate hold on any further development applications yet to be approved. You and I deserve no less!
