Jimmie Allen raises funds for Rehoboth Elementary

December 28, 2018

Cape High grad and country music star Jimmie Allen played to two sold-out crowds Dec. 22 at the Rusty Rudder for a fundraiser that netted $20,000 for the Rehoboth Elementary School PTO.

Allen recently released his album “Mercury Lane.” He told the crowd he intends to return each year to play a benefit concert for each of the Cape Henlopen District schools and may branch out to other lower Delaware schools. He said next year he will perform for his elementary alma mater, H.O. Brittingham Elementary School.

Allen’s first set at 6 p.m. was open to all ages and the 8 p.m. show was for the 21-and-over crowd. He performed acoustically during the first concert and his full band at the later show.
