Following retirement in 1997, he moved to Milton, where he worked until 2010 as a delivery driver for CHEER. Mr. Tierney will be remembered for his dependability, genuine personality, and pure ability to make you laugh. His last memory and a true testament to his character, was his choice to be an organ donor, and on Oct. 7 he was able to give the Gift of Life.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Dolores “Dee” (Tallia) Tierney; his two sons: Sean Tierney and his wife Christina of Chelsea, Ala. and Timothy B. Tierney and his wife Elizabeth of Pitman, N.J.; four grandchildren: Daniel, Brian, Jacob and Katelyn Tierney; two sisters: Rita Santo of Wayne, N.J. and Joan Bannworth of Monroe, N.J.; sister in law, Patricia Cropanese and her husband Joseph of Pompton Plains, N.J.; numerous nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.
