Judith Ann Heims, loving mother, grandmother

Judith Ann Heims, 80, of Lewes, passed away peacefully at home Friday, July 15, 2022. She was born Jan. 15, 1942, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of the late John and Julia (Shae) Mallard.

Judith spent most of her childhood in Cincinnati before moving to Edison, N.J., during her high school years. After high school, she attended and received her associate degree from Bryant College.  Judith started to work for American Can as a bookkeeper.  It was at American Can where she fell in love and remained happily married to Robert Heims for 35 years until his passing.  Bob and Judy lived together in a lovely neighborhood in Edison, where they raised two children, Eric and Kathleen.  After their retirement, they moved to their dream home in Lewes in 2003.  They soon became friends with those that lived in the community, and remained actively involved in many daily activities, card games, breakfasts and happy hours. Above all else, she enjoyed spending time with those she held most dear. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Loved by many, she will be deeply missed by all who had the good fortune to know her.

In addition to her parents, Judith Heims has gone on to join her husband Robert Henry Heims, and her brother John Mallard in heaven.   Together they will be lovingly looking down and guiding their surviving children, their son, Eric Heims (Jennifer); daughter, Kathleen Esposito; and grandchildren, Angelina Garofalo and Robert Heims.

Services will be private.
