Kelly Carmine Stuchlik, devoted wife, mother

November 5, 2025

Kelly Lyn Carmine Stuchlik, 70, passed Tuesday, March 11, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at The Lodge in Lewes. Her life began on the sun-dappled grounds of Camp Arrowhead, where she was raised among trees, pets, and lifelong friends. It was there that her love for nature, music, art, and animals first bloomed — passions that would shape her journey and touch everyone she met.

A graduate of Lewes School Class of 1972 and University of Delaware, Kelly earned her degree in textiles and clothing, a fitting tribute to her innate creativity. She was a true artisan — whether kneading dough into golden, woven loaves, stitching handmade dresses (or embarrassing Halloween costumes), or painting vibrant home accents, her hands were always busy, her heart always full.

In 1976, Kelly married her high school sweetheart, Terry, at the A. Felix duPont Memorial House in Rehoboth. Together they built a life rich in love, laughter, and music — often dancing to the rhythms of Terry’s band, surrounded by friends and family. Kelly’s greatest joy came from being a devoted mother to her son, Ben, and a cherished volunteer at Tatnall School.

Her spirit was playful and kind. She collected seashells like treasures and recalled vivid childhood stories and memories. Her beloved fur-babies surely greeted her in heaven with purrs and wagging tails.

Kelly was preceded in death by her parents, Terry and Bettylee Carmine; and her in-laws, Charles and Llywella Stuchlik. She is survived by her husband, Terry; son, Ben; daughter-in-law Katie; granddaughter, Lilly; sister, Debbie Simms (Rick); brother, Kim Carmine (Peggy); nieces, Karin Laroche, Susan Passwaters and Melody Wohlfeil; and nephew, K.C. Carmine.

A celebration of Kelly’s life will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 22, at Camp Arrowhead in Lewes — the place where her story began.

In honor of Kelly’s memory and her compassionate heart, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
