Knights of Columbus donates to Chimes Delaware

August 11, 2018

Chimes Delaware, one of the largest Delaware providers of community services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and co-occurring disabilities, recently received a $1,500 donation from the Knights of Columbus Star of the Sea Council 7297.

Representatives from Knights of Columbus presented a check to Chimes officials July 16. The donation was from the Knights' share of proceeds from their annual Tootsie Roll Drive.

With this generous donation, Chimes Delaware will be able to make several repairs and updates to the Irv & Phyllis Levin Employment Center in Millsboro, which offers a variety of day support and employment assistance options to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Last year, proceeds were donated to help Chimes build an outside bocce court at the Millsboro facility, which is used to help provide activities for Chimes clients.

Knight of Columbus, a national charity organization that has been giving since 1882, raises money for local charities that benefit people with intellectual disabilities.

Chimes Delaware's Irv & Phyllis Levin Employment Center services include prevocational, supportive and community activities, recreation and exercise, and day habilitation services.
