October 20, 2018

The League of Women Voters held a Water Warriors Expo Oct. 6 at the Milton Fire Hall. The expo is part three of the league’s public information series, Safe Drinking Water? Everyone’s Concern.

The league’s aim is not only to raise awareness of current well-water contamination and ongoing threats to public health and the environment in Sussex County, but also to stress the need for the public to insist on long-term solutions.

Organizations setting up displays and providing information at the expo included: the Sierra Club, the Marine Education, Research, Rehabilitation Institute, Delaware Center for the Inland Bays, Keep Our Wells Clean, DE Interfaith Power & Light, Protecting Our Indian River, Socially Responsible Agricultural Project, Milton Sustainability Committee, Lower Sussex NAACP Youth Council 2719, Citizens Climate Lobby Lower DE, Southeast Rural Community Assistance Project, and Fox Chase LLC/Farm Freezers.
