Life in the fun lane just got way more exciting at Lefty’s Alley and Eats, with the announcement of its brand-new drive-in movie theater, the only one in Delaware.
Coupled with the announcement of its new Executive Chef Paige van den Burg and new menu offerings, the combined culinary-entertainment experience is taken to a new high at Lefty’s.
As if the excitement of a new New York City-trained female executive chef at Lefty’s Alley and Eats wasn’t enough, the venue has announced a beautifully upgraded outdoor patio seating area to complement the refined flavors. “The patio features lush greenery and lighting to give it a vineyard feel,” said DJ Hill, co-owner of Lefty’s Alley and Eats. “Along with our incredible new chef, it was perfect timing for this outdoor upgrade.”
Van den Burg started life in St. Louis, Mo., but her interest in theater moved her to New York. After time spent in the theater, she shifted to her love of cooking and rapidly rose to secure a position and thrive in the competitive New York City restaurant scene. She worked for the famed Union Station Café, named by Travel and Leisure Magazine as one of the top eight restaurants in the Union Station area, and eventually joined the opening team of the renowned DIG Restaurant.
In her executive chef role, van den Burg will oversee introducing new flavors and culinary offerings at Lefty’s Alley and Eats, as well as for Lefty’s new Black Hat Catering operations, and the menus for VIP and corporate meetings and events at Lefty’s.
“Chef van den Burg understands the unique benefits and challenges of the resort/seasonal way of life, and the importance of working with the local community to showcase the freshest ingredients and local influences,” said Hill. “There is a new excitement and energy in the kitchen, and we are enthusiastic about the new tastes and the creativity she will add to our gastronomic experience at Lefty’s.”
