Lewes-Rehoboth Rotary donates to Beau Biden Foundation
The Beau Biden Foundation for the Protection of Children was recently the recipient of a $3,000 donation from the Lewes-Rehoboth Beach Rotary Club.
The foundation is committed to protecting children and confronting abuse. Recent statistics indicate 1 in 10 children will be abused before they turn 18; 60% never report the abuse and 90% are abused by someone they know. Also, nearly 44% of middle school children report being bullied.
The donation will enable training for volunteers in the Court Appointed Special Advocate program in Sussex County on the topics of online safety and bullying prevention, and awareness of the grooming of children by families and organizations. The CASA program serves as the voice of abused children in Sussex County.
