Local juggler Cascading Carlos achieves new world record

Local entertainer Carlos Mir, known as Cascading Carlos, achieved a third Guinness World Record Sept. 8, 2024, outside the Hilton on 32nd Street in Ocean City, Md.

A juggler for the past 30 years, Mir said he was introduced to juggling as a boy of 10. Mir’s newest record is for the highest helicopter devil sticks toss. The previous record was 20 feet and he threw 21 feet to surpass that mark.

Trying for records is how Mir sets goals. “It allows me to try to be my best,” he said. “You have to try it. If you fail, that is how you learn, from your mistakes.”
