Mary Ann Cross, worked at Holly Center

Mrs. Mary Ann Cross, 71, of Millsboro passed away Sunday, July 14, 2019, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford.

Mrs. Cross was born in Accomack County, Va., to the late Randolph Lee and Anna Bell Joynes Thomas. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three brothers, Deroy, David and Gerald Lee Thompson.

She worked as a CNA at the Holly Center in Salisbury, Md. She also worked for Mountaire for 15 years and also Salisbury Taxi for nine years. Mary enjoyed crochet, word puzzles, game shows and especially the Steve Harvey Show. She was a caring person, practical and sincere, and loved her family as well as her job at the Holly Center.

Mary is survived by her husband  of 38 years, Herman H. Cross Jr. of Salisbury; four children, Theresa Thomas of Millsboro, Ruth Ann Thomas of Millsboro, Ronnie Thomas of Millsboro and Patricia Thomas of Augusta, Ga.; and a stepson, Daryl Turner of Salisbury. She is also survived by one sister, Shirley Thompson; and five brothers, Bradley, Wydell, Donell, Douglas, and William Harvey Thompson. She also leaves behind 18 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren to cherish her memory. Mary is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at noon, Saturday, July 27, at St. John 2nd Baptist Church, 26602 Mount Joy Road, Millsboro, where friends may call from 11 a.m. to noon for viewing and visitation. Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery. Flowers accepted.
