A Milford man faces burglary and attempted theft Dec. 19 after police say a cleaning crew found him trying to steal alcohol from a Rehoboth Beach establishment.
Rehoboth Beach police were called about 10 p.m. to a business in the ocean block of Wilmington Avenue for a burglary in progress and learned that a former cleaning employee was found trying to steal alcohol from a locked cabinet, police said. When members of the cleaning crew confronted him, police said, the man fell down the stairs and injured his head.
The cleaning crew detained Donald Fulmore, 38, until police arrived and took him into custody. They took Fulmore to an area hospital where he was treated and released for his injury before police charged him with third-degree burglary, wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony, possession of burglar’s tools, and attempted theft under $1,500. Fulmore was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $8,000 secured bail.
