Milton Fire Department announces fire prevention contest winners

The Milton Fire Department and Ladies Auxiliary honored the 2017 fire prevention poster and essay winners Jan. 17.
Each year, Milton Fire Department works with the four elementary schools in its fire district to bring fire prevention programs to the students.
Third-grade student Matthew Heacock from Allison Workman’s class at Delmarva Christian Milton Campus won first place in Sussex County and third place at the state level.
Five Milton students placed in the Sussex County Fire Prevention program this year. Each student was awarded a gift card to Gooey Donuts and a fire company medallion.
