Milton fire prevention contest winners honored

Milton Fire Department honored local students as part of its annual Fire Prevention Awards, which recognize students for their posters and essays about fire prevention.
Each winning student was given a medal and a gift card to local Milton businesses.
First-grader Charlotte Evans of H.O. Brittingham Elementary School wins the first-place prize, presented by Mary Ann Argo and Bryan Reynolds.

Ryan Mavity covers Milton and the court system. He is married to Rachel Swick Mavity and has two kids, Alex and Jane. Ryan started with the Cape Gazette all the way back in February 2007, previously covering the City of Rehoboth Beach. A native of Easton, Md. and graduate of Towson University, Ryan enjoys watching the Baltimore Ravens, Washington Capitals and Baltimore Orioles in his spare time.
