The Town of Milton is about to open its 2012 Free Summer Concerts in the Park. There will be 15 concerts this year, starting Wednesday, May 23, and running through Wednesday, Aug. 29.

The concerts will be held in Milton Memorial Park behind the public library on Union Street. In case of inclement weather, shows will be held at the Milton Fire Hall on Front Street behind the police station on Federal Street. All concerts will begin at 7 p.m. and continue until time, weather or energy dictate otherwise.

There are 28 different sponsors for these concerts; organizers of the series are most appreciative of the new sponsors and always grateful for those who have continued another year or every year.

Each year, audiences have grown.  The audience members are encouraged to bring chairs, beach towels or blankets, dance or sing along when so moved, applaud loudly and return each Wednesday evening. Smoking and alcoholic beverages are not allowed in the park.

For more information, call town hall at 302-684-4110.
