Overturf to speak at Feb. 12 Lightship Overfalls meeting

February 10, 2021

The February Overfalls Foundation speakers program will feature broadcast journalist Madeline Overturf from WRDE. She will be speaking about her longtime affection for the Lightship Overfalls.

The photo shows the Lightship Overfalls leaving Lewes in November 2017, only the second time since its arrival in 1973. The ship was being towed to Dorchester Shipyard for a complete top-to-bottom repainting which took over five months to complete. Overturf made several visits to the shipyard to report on the progress of the repainting.

The presentation will also include information about the origin of WRDE, Sussex County’s newest TV station, as well its staff and future.

The program will be aired on Zoom at 7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 12. Go to overfalls.org for the Zoom link.
