Paul J. Pasqualini, retired financial advisor

Paul J. Pasqualini passed away Friday, Nov. 28, 2014, at Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville, Ky.

Born in New York, N.Y., April 25, 1928, to Silvio and Ida Pasqualini, originally of Pitigiliano, Italy, he was proud to be a native New Yorker of Italian descent.

After graduation from the Manhattan School of Aviation Trades, he held various jobs before being drafted into the U.S. Army during the Korean War where he was stationed at Fort Dix as a member of the mechanics’ pool.

In 1950 he wed Agnes Marie Kearney of Philadelphia, Pa., and they were married for 57 years until her death in 2007. Together they moved multiple times while raising four beautiful children. He embarked on a career as an insurance agent and then financial planner with John Hancock Investments, eventually rising to the position of regional vice president.

While working at John Hancock he obtained his bachelor’s degree from Youngstown State University. His professional certifications included CLU, CFP and ChFC. While advancing his career he and Agnes lived in Philadelphia, Wilmington, Sharon, Pa., and Johnstown Pa. Upon his retirement from John Hancock, he started Henlopen Financial Services in Lewes, and then became a financial advisor for Edward Jones, also in Lewes.

He served many different community organizations, including the Johnstown Lions Club and The Association of the Blind. A lifelong Catholic he was a Eucharistic Minister, lector and taught RCIA, the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults. He was a third and fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus, and was a past grand knight.

A master story teller, he also loved music, and played the drums and guitar. He was a member of the Professional Musicians Guild. He was also an accomplished artist and avid gardener. He enjoyed sailing and obtained his pilot’s license. He established lifelong relationships with his relatives in Pitigliano, Italy.

He married Suzanne Hehemann in December, 2008, after moving to Louisville. During their marriage they enjoyed visiting friends and family in Florida, California, Pennsylvania and Delaware. They enjoyed the opera and were members of the Church of the Epiphany and Hurstbourne Country Club.

He is survived by his children: Rosemarie Pasqualini of Chadds Ford Pa. and most recently Louisville, Ky.; Nativa P. Wood of Mechanicsburg, Pa., her husband Jerome Wood and their son Patrick; Paul J. Pasqualini Jr. of Carlisle, Pa., his wife Elisabeth Pasqualini and their children Dylan, Fiona and Paul James; and Juleann Pasqualini of Dallas, Texas. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Claire Ashley Dufrene, her husband Ross Dufrene, their children Beaux and Lillian of Jacksonville, Fla.; and Gilbert “Tripp” Hehemann III of Louisville.

Visitation will be at Arch L. Heady and Son Funeral Home at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Road Monday, Dec. 1, from 4 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, Dec. 2, at the Church of the Epiphany at 10 a.m. A private Mass and burial will be held in Mechanicsburg.
