Provident State Bank hires executive vice president, announces promotions

Provident State Bank announced it has hired Rick Burns as executive vice president and chief business development officer.

Burns will be responsible for leading the bank’s business development strategy with oversight of commercial business development, branch sales and mortgage originations. He brings 28 years’ experience in financial services, most recently at M&T Bank where he was responsible for managing the business banking sales activities in Queen Anne’s and Anne Arundel counties in Maryland.

Provident State Bank has also promoted Lauren Kimlel, Joe Domotor and Billie Jo Newman to senior leadership roles.

Kimlel has been promoted to executive vice president and chief operating officer. She manages the loan and deposit operations of the bank and is responsible for implementing banking technology solutions to better serve customers. Kimlel has 24 years’ experience in financial services and has been with Provident for 10 months, most recently having served as chief risk officer.

Domotor has been promoted to senior vice president and sales manager of the residential mortgage division. Domotor has over 30 years’ experience in residential mortgage sales and has spent the last three years at Provident developing the bank’s mortgage portfolio. Domotor oversees the bank’s secondary market program and builds investor relationships to better serve customers’ financing needs.

Newman has been promoted to senior vice president and chief credit officer/risk officer. She has 16 years’ experience in financial services and for the last eight years served as senior credit officer for Provident. Newman’s expanded responsibilities include oversight of the bank’s credit risk management and loan portfolio administration.
