RAL presents Salon: From the Collector May 15

At the Rehoboth Beach home of Jim Prettyman
May 14, 2019

The Rehoboth Art League will present “Salon: From the Collector with the Collectibles of Jim Prettyman,” Wednesday, May 15, at the Rehoboth Beach home of Jim Prettyman.

If people missed seeing the collectibles in this amazing home on the art league’s 2018 Cottage Tour of Art, this is the chance. This home has been a repository for the owner’s extensive collection of family heirlooms and antiques, and the architecture of the residence creates an ideal backdrop for the display of art. Prettyman’s collectible treasures are organized to compliment each other, and the home showcases 2D and 3D artwork throughout.

Themed paintings will be discussed, as well as “the war room,” which houses military prints, and the library, which showcases elaborate taxidermy. Additional areas of interest are Prettyman’s collections of oyster plates and Majolica pottery, as well as unique antique furniture pieces, each with their own story.

The event will be hosted by Jim Prettyman from 6 to 8 p.m. Light hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be served. Tickets are $50 per person and may be purchased online at www.rehobothartleague.org or by phone 302-227-8408, Ext. 203. Space is limited and advance reservations are required.

This program is supported, in part, by a grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts. The Division promotes Delaware arts events on www.DelawareScene.com.
