Rehoboth orientation course is a must-view

September 22, 2023

You probably missed it! On Sept. 18, the Rehoboth Beach Board of Commissioners held a meeting it called, Elected Officials Orientation Course. But, in fact, it was much more than that. In my opinion, it was one of the most significant and important city meetings I’ve ever attended.

In a 90-minute session, the city manager and every departmental administrator detailed their functions and programs; they highlighted their goals, staffing and budget needs. For example, workforce housing was identified as a significant issue for attracting summer staff in important areas such as police and beach patrol. Simply stated, it provided commissioners with an agenda for future action.

It also offered the public a glimpse of the outstanding staff members the city employs. We are truly fortunate.

Whether you live in town or outside the city limits, the details of this important meeting should be a must-view on the city website. A comprehensive guidebook should be found in the meeting agenda packet. This should be an annual event.

Check it out!
