Rescue dogs arrive in Georgetown

Approximately 60 dogs, mostly puppies, arrived by plane in Georgetown March 23 to join the Brandywine Valley SPCA adoption program. The dogs came from three overcrowded shelters in Mississippi and Texas, where they had little chance of adoption and faced likely euthanasia.

This freedom flight was flown by Wings of Rescue with support from the ASPCA. The dogs made their way to the Animal Rescue Center in six vehicles where they’ll get a medical intake, receive spay/neuter, then be available for adoption at Brandywine Valley SPCA campuses starting next week.
