Richard I. Rhoads, retired lineman

Richard I. Rhoads, 79, of Georgetown, died Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011, at Beebe Medical Center.

He was the son of the late Paul F. Rhoads and Marguerite Miller Rhoads. He served in the U.S. Navy, where he learned photography, and was a 1949 graduate of Boyertown High School.  He worked as an electrical lineman for Local Union 126 for 42 years.  He was an active member of the Coastal Camera Club and enjoyed traveling and camping.

He is survived by his wife Georgeanne; a brother, Larry Rush; a sister, Dolly Moyer; and a daughter, Robin Horowitz and her husband Lonnie; also three stepdaughters, Georgeanne Leaming, Sandra Emma and Lori Emma; and four grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 8, at Cool Spring Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 28843 Log Cabin Road, Lewes.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Tunnell Cancer Center, 18947 John J. Williams Highway, Rehoboth, DE 19971.  Arrangements handled by Short Funeral Services, Milton.
