Sandra 'Sandi' Campbell-Nelson, served her country
CMSgt Sandra Kay “Sandi" (call sign "Witch") Rowe Campbell-Nelson, DC ANG, Retired of Lewes, died Wednesday, March 9, 2016. Sh was born in Bethesda, Md., Dec. 9, 1955. She was the daughter of Charles Rowe and Helen (Harris) Rowe Littwin.
Sandi is survived by her husband, CMSgt Willie Nelson, USAF, Retired, and his daughters Michelle Nelson of Dunkirk, Md. and Melissa Fitzgerald of Corpus Christi, Texas; daughters Marni (Matt) Watson of Arnold, Md. and Messina (Paul) Kurst of St. Michaels, Md.; her mother Helen (Harris) Rowe Littwin of Georgetown; a sister, Karen Rowe Sisk of Germantown, Md.; grandchildren Campbell Kurst, Ava Kurst, Ethan, Nina, Bryn, and Aaron Watson; and a nephew, Sean Rowe of Frederick, Md. In addition to her family, Sandi is survived by her very special friends and cohorts: Joyce Mulhern, Jessica Wilson, Susan Murray, among many other good friends. She was predeceased by her father, Charles W. Rowe, husband CMSgt Michael Craig Campbell, DC ANG, Retired and her brother Jerry W. Rowe.
Sandi was a career-long servant of her country. Prior to her retirement in 2008, Sandi served as chief master sergeant and airfield manager for the 121st Squadron of the 113th Wing in the District of Columbia Air National Guard, at Joint Base Andrews.
Friends may call at Lee Funeral Home, Inc., 6633 Old Alexandria Ferry Road, Clinton, Md., Friday, March 18, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A celebration of her life will be held at 12:30 p.m., at the funeral home, with internment at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham at 2:30 p.m.
