Science fair set for Rehoboth in April

March 31, 2011

More than 350 fifth-grade students from the Cape Henlopen School District will compete in the 3rd Annual Cape Henlopen School District fifth-grade science fair at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Thursday, April 7. Awards will be presented at 7:30 p.m.

A panel of judges including college professors, engineers, and local teachers will present the Albert Einstein, Sir Isaac Newton, Thomas Edison, and Madame Curie awards to the projects that truly demonstrate originality, creativity, and scientific research. In addition, first-, second-, and third-place, and honorable mention awards will be presented to projects in each of these four science categories:  Life, Physical, Earth and Space, and Consumer Products.

The science fair could not take place without the generosity of its sponsors, which include Cape Henlopen Educational Foundation, the Dewey Beach Lions Club and the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center.

In the past two decades, there have been many worldwide scientific advances that can all be traced back to basic math and science skills.  For more information, contact Jacqueline Kisiel, 302-227-2571 or jcoverdale@cape.k12.de.us.
