Sea Trek scientist Skypes storytime to Little Vikings

Cape’s Little Vikings preschool students enjoyed a unique interactive lesson Jan. 30.
In a Skype session from Sarasota, Fla., a Sea Trek scientist read “If a Dolphin Were a Fish” aloud to the students. Written by Loran Wlordarski, the book provides lessons about the ocean, including what makes a mammal a mammal and how creatures have adapted to live in the sea.
As they listened, students traveled throughout the ocean with Delfina the Dolphin as she imagined that she became other animals. The morphing illustrations entertained and educated the students about the real differences between different animals.
