The St. Cecilia Music Guild at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Lewes awarded its second annual music scholarship to Abby Wilson, a graduating senior at Indian River High School.

This $1,000 award is made to a senior who is going to major in music at college.

Abby has been heavily involved in both vocal and instrumental music from a young age. She has been part of nearly every music group in her schools over the years, and has been in many honor choirs and bands. She has also been drum major with her high school marching band.

Her talent and vast music knowledge have allowed her to tutor elementary and middle school students in music. This led her to the realization that she would like to pursue a career as a vocal music teacher at the middle and high school levels. She will attend James Madison University in pursuit of that goal. A long-range goal is to earn advanced degrees and eventually teach on the college level.

The St. Cecilia Guild congratulates Abby and wishes her well.
