St. John’s Church hosts Milford Oktoberfest

October 6, 2019

The grounds of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Milford were the scene for animals, kids games, music, food, beer and lederhosen Sept. 27-28 for the church’s 29th annual Oktoberfest.

The festival grounds are divided into two sections: the parking lot where the food tents, bounce houses and stages were located. Besides German favorites like bratwurst and sauerkraut and Spaten Oktoberfest and lager beers, the food menu also had dishes from Italy, Mexico and Poland. The other side of the grounds included fire truck rides, a petting zoo, hay rides and pumpkin painting.

Oktoberfest is a two-day event, opening at night Sept. 27 with the Oktoberfest 5K run and walk and a concert by the Funsters. The festivities picked up Sept. 28 with music from Joe Kroboth and the Glass Onion Band and the Oktoberfest Craft Show.
