May 9 is the 34th annual Stamp Out Hunger food drive, hosted by your local post offices and postal unions. This is the largest single-day food drive in the United States. It is also the largest all-volunteer, one-day effort for the benefit of area food pantries. All food collected by your Rehoboth Beach-Lewes carriers remains in and benefits this area. The food drive helps restock area food pantries as they prepare for the spring and summer. It is estimated that 45 million Americans experience food insecurity annually. Many of these people are your neighbors.
Thanks to the contributions of our customers, in 2025 the Rehoboth Beach-Lewes post offices collected the most tonnage of any in the United States.
Your local USPS carriers volunteer their time to collect and distribute food goods. People should leave non-perishable food goods by their mailboxes before your carrier arrives Saturday, May 9.
