Sussex Academy girls’ lacrosse hosts play day

March 21, 2022

The Sussex Academy girls’ lacrosse team went 4-0 in their six-team play day March 19 at their Georgetown campus. Teams joining the home squad were Archmere, Easton, Kent Island, Newark Charter and North Caroline.

“I think our team found their connection as the play day went on,” said Sussex Academy head coach Taylor Gooch. “We have a lot of returning players this year, but I feel that we are an entirely different team this year, and I am so excited about that. Kudos to both of our goalies, Peyton Hagy and Morgan Leeper, who both played great in the cage.”

The Seahawks open the regular season Wednesday, March 23 at Sussex Tech.
