There’s nothing like rattling off some runs to shake off a losing streak.

Rolling to a 16-1 victory over First State Military Academy April 21, the Sussex Academy softball team snapped a three-game losing streak to start a four-game homestand that will include Senior Night.

Grayce Glover helped power the offense with her fourth home run of the season, a no-doubter to right-center field. Seniors Delainie Monitzer and Eva Boos helped the cause with a double, while their classmate Ryan Lowe made a highlight-reel catch in center field.

With the win, Sussex Academy moves to 5-4 a little over the midpoint of the season. Two of the next three games in the homestand will be against Henlopen North foes, Caesar Rodney Thursday, April 23, and Milford Thursday, April 30. Sandwiched in between those contests is the Senior Night game against Laurel Tuesday, April 28.
