Tanger Outlets Seaside held a Pink Yoga event Sept. 30 to help kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Since 1993, Tanger Outlets has proudly been involved in the fight against breast cancer. They have spent the last 25 years partnering locally and nationally to come together and make a difference in the lives of those affected by this disease. In 2017, Tanger Outlet’s Pink campaign donated over $420,000 to local charities in Tanger markets across the country; $37,650 of that was donated to the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition, the local beneficiary of Tanger Outlets in Rehoboth Beach.
Tanger also donated $250,000 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation in 2017, the national beneficiary. They chose to kick off this year’s Pink campaign with a yoga event because they thought it would be fun, inclusive and interactive. The yoga event was a morning of inspiration, connection and community. They welcomed people of all ability levels, not just cancer survivors. The gentle practice of yoga brings ease of movement and comfort to bodies. It’s life-affirming and can be profoundly healing.
The Women’s Mobile Screening van belongs to the State of Delaware, and the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition has a contract to operate it. For more information, contact Katelyn Wright at kwright@debreastcancer.org.
