Trap Pond State Park photography contest open until Sept. 15

Trap Pond Partners is holding an amateur photo contest at Trap Pond State Park in memory of Kennet O’Neal who was an active member.

The contest will run from Tuesday, June 1, through Wednesday, Sept. 15. Photographs must be taken at Trap Pond State Park or its managed areas of Trussum Pond or Barns Woods.

Winning photos will be displayed at the nature center for the Trap Pond Partners annual meeting in November.

Three categories of photography are Animals; Landscapes and Nature; and Activities and Camping. Photographers may enter one picture per category and a maximum of three total. The two divisions are youth up to 12 years old and adult.

Each category of picture will have an honorable mention and first-place winner. The youth first-place winner will receive a free day camp, and the adult first-place winner will receive a camp store credit. One overall grand prize winner will receive a free cabin rental. The grand prize photo will hang in the nature center for the year. All winners will receive annual park passes.

Trap Pond State Park may use the pictures for such items as calendars or post cards with credit given to the photographers.

For registration and release forms, go to trappondpartners.com. Copies may be picked up at the nature center or camp store at Trap Pond. Registration is free and open to all amateurs.
