Vikings Lax Camp brings out the best in girls' lax skills

June 18, 2015

More than 110 future lacrosse stars attended the third annual Vikings Lax Camp at Cape Henlopen High School June 15-17. The camp was run by Cape head coach P.J. Kesmodel and Vikings grad Meg Bartley, and featured 15 counselors from the top lax colleges in the United States.

"It was another great turnout this year," said Kesmodel. "This is a great opportunity for any level player to learn the game of lacrosse. You won't find the level of coaches on Delmarva that we have here. We have coaches from the top D1 schools in the country."

Girls ages 8 to 14 learned skills such as cradling, passing, shooting, defensive skills and game strategy.

"Lacrosse in this area has grown so much over the past few years," said  Bartley. "It's great to have the opportunity to advance the skills of girls who are the future of the game of lacrosse."
