Village Salon and Spa gets a makeover
Village Salon and Spa hosted a grand opening celebration after early spring renovations with a layout owner Raven Hudson said she began planning soon after she bought the former MedSpa location.
"I wanted to change it and make it mine before we celebrated a grand opening," Hudson said.
When she bought the salon in the beginning of 2014, the owner said she thought it looked tired. Hudson wanted a fresh look and a layout that made more sense for the business and the experience she wanted the Village Salon and Spa to deliver clientele.
Originally from New Hampshire, Hudson moved to the Cape Region after she married her husband, Jamin Hudson, and said her aunt owned a salon, so she grew up in the industry.
Licensed in massage, skin care and hair, Hudson said she enjoys the hands-on aspects of the business, but mainly does administrative work these days, preferring to grow her client base and roster of stylists and technicians.
With the renovations now complete, Hudson unveiled the new salon at her belated grand opening, showing off the new, open floor plan and added services.
At any given time, Hudson said she has a staff of technicians, stylists, aestheticians and massage therapists available to provide personal service at the Redken salon.
From lash extensions to pedicures, the salon literally offers services head-to-toe.
Much like the former tenants of her unit in the Villages at Five Points, Village Salon and Spa offers facial therapies, including Jane Iredale makeup application, brow tinting, microdermabrasion and chemical peels.
Body work includes reflexology, body scrubs, deep tissue massage, hot stone and even hot oil Indian head massages.
Stylists in the hair salon mix hair colors on-the-spot from a new color wall Hudson installed while clients in the spa are now treated to their own relaxation rooms before and after services.
Village Salon and Spa also offers packages for bridal parties and custom celebrations.
