Walmart promotes fire safety, donates to Rehoboth fire company

July 9, 2019

Several members of the Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company participated in a Safety Awareness Day at Walmart June 29. Families were able to explore fire and EMS apparatus up close, and receive information on fire prevention.

“Anytime we can get in front of the public and speak with kids about fire safety is another opportunity to hopefully prevent a bad situation,” said fire company Captain John Meng.

Walmart Store Manager Reggie O’Neal presented a donation of $1,000 to the fire company.

Fire company Treasurer Ted Doyle said, “We certainly appreciate the donation and great community involvement from the team members at Walmart.”
