John D. “Jack” Lauer Jr., loved family dearly

John D. “Jack” Lauer Jr., 63, of Bethany Beach, died at Beebe Healthcare, Lewes, Monday, June 13, 2016. He was born in Baltimore, Md., Nov. 21, 1952, son of Patricia (McPoland) Lauer and the late John D. Lauer Sr.

He was a passionate, hardworking man who loved his family dearly. He enjoyed sports, reading and vacationing in the Florida Keys, but his most precious time was spent with family and friends. Jack was an extremely loving father, grandfather and friend to all. He had a very kind heart and quick wit, and will be dearly missed by all who knew him and loved him.

Jack is survived by his partner, Marie Sherman; his mother, Patricia Lauer; two children: Danielle Welsh and husband Mike, and Chris Lauer and wife Nicole; five siblings: Patrice Felber and husband Bob, Brian and wife Jill, Tim and wife Darlene and their daughter Kate, and Rick and his partner Carol Carpenter; four grandchildren: William and Charlie Welsh, and Maggie and Jordy Lauer. He was preceded in death by his father, John D. Lauer Sr.; and brother, Robert Lauer.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, June 22, at Ruck Funeral Home in Towson, Md. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 15120, Chicago, Ill, 60693-5120.
