Free financial classes set Jan. 7, 10

January 2, 2019

Delaware Money School is sponsoring two upcoming free financial classes.

Smart and Simple Financial Strategies for a New Year will be held from 4 to 5:30 p.m., Monday, Jan. 7, at Lewes Public Library.

This course will help attendees learn the most common financial mistakes people make, determine what those mistakes cost over time and discover easy methods to fix them. Participants will be given practical tools to enhance their financial well-being and put an end to giving away their hard-earned money. Discussion will cover how simple tools can make a huge difference for one’s financial future and help create an overall plan to become financially free. Upon completion of this class, attendees will understand the concepts necessary to thrive in the future.

How to Protect Your Assets in an Unstable Economy will be offered from 3 to 4 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 10, at South Coastal Library in Bethany Beach.

This will be an informational session about how to manage the volatility of today’s saving venues and accumulate a comfortable retirement nest egg. Discussion will cover making money last in retirement as well as the best options available concerning Social Security. Attendees will be given tips to help create an overall plan to become financially free.

Delaware Money School provides experienced and well-qualified instructor Diane Heydt for both classes. Having taught financial classes for many years, Heydt breaks down complex subjects to simple, understandable terms.

The Money School is the signature program of the nonprofit Delaware Financial Literacy Institute. Participants can enroll in this program and earn a certificate that demonstrates a commitment to financial education. To register, go to www.dfli.org. Walk-ins are welcome.
