Millsboro author Chris Fedorka Tomalin pens osprey book

December 3, 2019

Local children’s book author Chris Fedorka Tomalin is pleased to announce the release of her new picture book, “Oscar, the Obstinate Osprey.”

Oscar, a nestling osprey, lives in a platform nest near Massey’s Landing. A very picky eater, Oscar has no idea why his parents call him “Obstinate Oscar.”  When it is time to fly south for the winter, Oscar is too weak to join in the flight. As the story unfolds, Oscar is left to fend for himself for the winter.

As a volunteer for Osprey Watch through Delaware fish and wildlife, Tomalin monitors a nest near Massey’s Landing and was inspired to write her book about these amazing birds of prey.

Tomalin is also the author of “If I Had a Tail” and an adult fiction novel, “An Even Exchange.”

Oscar’s heartwarming story is now available at Browseabout Books in Rehoboth and Amazon in time for the holidays. It is the perfect gift for children ages 3-9.
