Christmas lights flood Georgetown streets
The Greater Georgetown Chamber of Commerce’s annual Christmas Parade lived up to its theme, Holiday Parade of Lights, with some 100 entries.
Prior to the start of the Dec. 2 parade, Georgetown Mayor Bill West announced that Georgetown Arts & Flowers had been named volunteers of the year.
Results of the parade are as follows:
Adult/youth marching group – First, 4-H Clover Knights; second, Sussex Central JROTC
Band – First, Sussex Central; second, Sussex Tech
Non-commercial – First, Georgetown Girls Minor League; second, Clem Lecates
Commercial float – First, Impact Graphix; second, Farkas Concrete
Religious float – First, Jusst Sooup; second, Everlasting Hope Ministries
Scouts marching, boys – First, Troop 95/Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts
Scouts marching, girls – First, Troop 499; second, Troop 138
Equestrian – First, Malone Stables
