Cape Henlopen school board meets May 26

The Cape Henlopen school board will meet at 6 p.m., Thursday, May 26, at Milton Elementary School. Members will possibly take action on several board policies, the new middle school bid results, major capital project change orders and the 2022 fiscal year market pressure local match. Lewes bike and ped meets May 24

The Lewes Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Committee will meet at 6 p.m., Tuesday, May 24, at city hall.

Guest speaker will be Lenny Richardson from Pedego Bikes, a manufacturer of electric bikes. Committee members will discuss the FY2023 budget and whether they should meet monthly to improve effectiveness.

Lewes Public Arts Committee to meet

The Lewes Public Arts Committee will meet at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 25, at the Rollins Center. A report will be given on the Cape Spirit application meeting. An update will be provided on the 2023 community art project with Amanda Brower.

Lewes Board of Public Works meets May 25

The Lewes Board of Public Works will meet at 4 p.m., Wednesday, May 25, at city hall. Engineer Charlie O’Donnell will present the W. Cedar Street flood study.

Also planned is a discussion on a proposal to update the Lewes BPW’s wellhead protection delineation in partnership with the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control.

A proposal for a long-range plan for the wastewater treatment plant will also be discussed.

Coral Lakes appeal on council agenda

Sussex County Council will meet at 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 24, in the county administration building, 2 The Circle, Georgetown. Included on the agenda is a 1:30 p.m. appeal by the developer of the Coral Lakes subdivision denial from Sussex County Planning & Zoning Commission.

Also on the agenda is a 2022-23 fiscal year budget presentation during the last meeting of the current fiscal year, and possible action on three applications for the Mitchell’s Corner project on Kings Highway and Gills Neck Road in Lewes.
