The inaugural Cape Henlopen State Park Tour de Friends Oct. 2 was one of the few events not canceled over the weekend due to rainy and windy conditions. It was a busy weekend for the Friends of Cape Henlopen State Park, who also had a wine, cheese and beer tasting Oct. 1.
Planned as an outdoor event, the Friends moved it into the Officer’s Club. A few brave cyclists took part in the family-fun scavenger hunt seeking out locations throughout the park. The event featured games, prizes, bike safety information, an after-party by Crooked Hammock and support from Sussex Cyclists.

Brothers James, left, and William Deinert of Lincoln are among the few cyclists who participated in the Tour de Friends scavenger hunt.

Polly White, vice president of Friends of Cape Henlopen State Park, gives Marlee Lintz of Ocean View a twirl as he competes in the pin-the-rider-on-the-bicycle game.
